As of 2011 the music industry is suffering an all-time low in record sales and saturation of simplicity. I have been a rap artist for over a decade and a fan of music my entire life. I must admit that I haven’t seen the music game in this much danger. I have also become less motivated to create music in this climate. Though my outlook on the industry is simply an opinion at this point it has sparked an idea. I decided to create a series called “Challenging The Music” that will feature talented artists who push the envelope in their music or offers an alternative to the music game. You will meet entrepreneurs, athletes, DJ’s, musicians, painters, sculptors and a plethora of other talents. This series will hope to inspire and offer a change of pace to the monotonous tone happening in the music industry. You will only be able to witness this amazing series at www.frontofficemg.com. Sit back, relax, and prepare to be enlightened. This is “Challenging The Music”
Two of the most notorious smokers are about to take you higher. Snoop Dogg has recruited Wiz Khalifa for his new album.
The rappers have recorded a song together, appropriately titled “This Weed Is Mine.” The smokers’ anthem is scheduled to appear on Snoop’s 11th studio album Doggumentary Music, along with the Scoop Deville-produced lead single “New Year’s Eve.”
Other songs on the March 2011 release include “Rollin’ in My Malibu,” “Oh Boy,” and collaborations with Lil Jon and Swizz Beatz.
“I have been in the game for so long and still have the same passion I did when I first started,” the Doggfather previously said. “I want my fans to ride with me on this one and know that I am so focused on bringing good music to them.”
Jon over at hiphopdx wrote up a killer article on Mac Miller. I haven’t had a chance to read it all yet, but it looks very in depth. Should be a great read. Hit the jump to check it out.
